NSITG courses have been developed over time to reflect the training and formal qualifications required to provide evidence of true competencies across all facets of working with natural stone - from restoration and repair of heritage buildings to new, modern projects, big and small.

Equally, it is recognised that time "off the job" to complete formal qualifications and to gain essential CSCS card compliance can be difficult to justify in the present economic climate.

Thus, our training courses, often delivered via StoneTrain, the training arm of Stone Federation GB aim to be as flexible as possible in order to fit with day to day working demands and also to take maximum advantage of grant funding available to CITB registered companies.

Priestman Associates LLP are a leading facade preservation project consultancy and the training and assessment provider for a number of SFGB StoneTrain and NSITG training programmes including the SAP NVQ L2 in Facade Preservation and Stone Fixing plus a number of OSAT NVQ qualification from L2 through to L7. See "Our Course" for full details.

Founded in 1893, the Building Crafts College has a long tradition of delivering high quality education training in building crafts and building conservation.

The student population of the College is diverse, with a wide range of ages and backgrounds. Courses span a great range of opportunity and, theoretically, a student can enter the College to complete a Level 1 multi-skills course and progress through to complete a degree in historic building conservation, or a construction management qualification.

Building Crafts College is partnered with Stone Federation GB and the NSITG to deliver the Specialist Apprentice Programme (SAP) NVQ L3 in Heritage Skills Stonemasonryand also two Specialist Upskilling Programmes (SUPs) that deliver the same qualification for more experienced operatives. Achievement of the NVQ brings eligibilty to apply for a CSCS Gold Heritage Card.
